What families have said about working with us

From the households we have worked with

"We had been meaning to sort out our household records for years. Hafiz came three times and by the end we had a folder that actually made sense — every document in a labelled section and a printed list of who to call in different situations. My mother-in-law was particularly relieved that we finally had it all in one place."

"My wife and I did the conversation workshop. I was a bit sceptical going in — three hours sounded like a long time to talk about talking. But the session gave us a way of handling the conversations we keep avoiding, and we left with something practical to use. The facilitator was very good at staying out of the way while still keeping things moving."

"We are in our second year of the planning programme. What I appreciate most is that Nadia does not try to tell us what to decide — she just helps us have the conversation properly. The quarterly sessions have become something we look forward to. It sounds strange to say that about a household planning meeting, but here we are."

"We arranged the records setup after my father passed away and we realised we had no idea where anything was. Hafiz was very patient with what was a rather emotional process. We now have everything organised, and more importantly, my siblings all have a copy of the contact list and know where the folder lives. That alone was worth it."

"My husband and I have been married fifteen years and we have very different ways of handling household discussions. The workshop did not fix that — but it gave us a shared language and a way of raising difficult topics without it turning into a circular argument. We have used what we learned several times since."

"I would say Kinwell delivered exactly what it said it would — no more, no less. I appreciated that they were clear about what they are and what they are not. We came for the records setup and left with everything in order. The follow-up review habit they left us with has actually stuck."

A closer look at three households

Case Study — Records Setup

A family that realised too late their records were scattered

The starting point

A household with two working parents and three school-age children. Documents were spread across three locations, several were missing entirely, and nobody knew the account numbers or contact details that would be needed in an urgent situation.

What we did together

Over three in-home sessions, the family and facilitator went through every category of household document, labelled and filed what existed, noted what was missing, and created a written contact list covering utilities, medical, insurance, and school contacts.

What the household had at the end

A complete labelled folder, a printed family timeline, a contact list shared with both parents and the household's emergency contacts, and a short quarterly review to keep it current. The missing documents were flagged for follow-up.

"We kept saying we'd get to it. Having someone come to the house and sit with us while we did it was the only way it was ever going to happen."
Case Study — Conversation Workshop

A couple with a long-standing pattern of avoided conversations

The starting point

A couple in their mid-forties who had drifted into a pattern where certain topics — ageing parents, housing plans, money — were either avoided or became heated. Neither wanted the other pattern. They had tried to address it alone without success.

What we did together

The three-hour workshop introduced a framework for opening and holding household discussions. Both partners practised using it on a topic they had each prepared. The facilitator observed and offered structure when conversations stalled, without taking sides or directing outcomes.

What the household had at the end

A shared vocabulary and a method for raising household topics. The couple left with a short written note of the framework they had practised. Several months later, they reported using it when a significant household decision came up.

"The workshop did not solve anything — it gave us the tools to work things out ourselves. That distinction matters to us."
Case Study — Year-Round Planning

A family that wanted a planning rhythm but kept losing momentum

The starting point

A family with adult children who wanted to hold quarterly household meetings to plan ahead, but found that without someone to facilitate, the meetings either turned into arguments or were postponed indefinitely.

What we did together

Nadia began with an in-home setup session to agree on how the quarterly meetings would run. Over the year, four quarterly sessions covered annual plans, a significant care decision for one parent, and a household budget conversation. Nadia held the structure; the family held the conversation.

What the household had at the end

A completed year of facilitated household planning, a written annual review summary, and a renewed booking for the following year. The family reported that decisions were made more easily and followed through more reliably when the meetings had an outside structure.

"We had all the goodwill. What we lacked was someone who could hold the space. That is what Nadia does."
